Job Description
The Programs Assistant is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical duties necessary for the smooth operation of the safety net services BCCC provides to seniors 60+ in Boulder County. Duties will be varied and focus on communicating with clients to ensure they receive they services they need.  This is a part-time position and reports to the Programs Director.  This position includes recurring access to vulnerable populations

Responsibilities
  • Communicating with clients by phone
  • New client intake
  • Providing friendly customer service for clients and volunteers
  • Entering service requests in a database
  • Maintaining client paperwork
  • Creating reports on services, volunteers and clients
  • Coordinating the weekly shopping days on site
  • Assisting with special events
  • Working with the programs team to improve services
  • Monitoring and replenishing program supply inventories
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding client records
  • Other duties may include attending meetings, taking on special projects, participating in other activities and tasks as requested
 Qualifications & Competencies
  • Organized, process and detail oriented
  • Flexible and positive team player
  • Capable of interacting compassionately and relating well with older adults
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer competencies
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • A high level of professionalism when working with the public
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Take initiative and works with minimal supervision
  • Motivated to learn new things, sharpen skills, and be part of our dynamic and growing nonprofit
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Current Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Meet the National Service Criminal History Check requirements
 Essential functions/working conditions
  • General office environment plus some outreach and service activities in non-office locations
  • Shopping day coordination occurs at a local grocery store
  • Light physical demands
  • Able to communicate by phone
  • Able to work under stress of meeting deadlines and changing priorities
  • Able to operate business machines and technology
  • Work hours may include some evenings and weekends
  • Reliable transportation
 Hours & Compensation
This is a 24 hour per week position.  There is one position open currently.  The schedule for this position averages 4 hours/day, 4-5 days per week.  Specific hours will be determined based on the candidate selected and the division of responsibilities.  Starting pay is $12-14/hour.
