Job Description

Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Development. The Director of Development focuses on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospects and donors to support BETC’s operations, programming, and long-term growth and sustainability. The Director is responsible for an annual goal as well as the strategic expansion of the program. This position reports to the Managing Director, and also works closely with the Producing Artistic Director, as well as the Director of Programs & Grants.

The ideal candidate has:

-Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing in order to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships;

-Demonstrated successful track record securing funding from both individual and corporate philanthropists;

-Excellent ability to handle sensitive information discretely and maintain confidentiality;

-Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously; to prioritize and take initiative; to work independently and collaboratively; and to adapt to changing priorities;

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required;

-Minimum of three years of non-profit fundraising for arts or cultural organization preferred.

Hours/Schedule: 30 hrs/week, with a variety of days, evenings, and weekend meetings and events
Starting Salary: Competitive, with paid vacation
